Things to Consider When Choosing a Hosting Plan
- File Size - Each plan allows you to upload up to 125 database files, but the size of your files is a determining factor in deciding which plan is right for you. Make sure you pick a plan with an appropriate amount of disk space to accommodate the overall size of your files along with the backups. A good rule of thumb is to multiply the size of your FileMaker file (plus any external container data) times four.
- Performance - If you plan to run continuous routines or regular audit systems, you may want to opt for a plan with more RAM/CPU available to handle complex processes.
- Backups - All of our plans include daily backups that are available for 7 days and weekly backups that are stored for 6 months.
- SSL Certificates - Every PCI FileMaker hosting plan includes an SSL certificate. If you would like a customized SSL certificate for a custom domain name or other requirements, this option is available for an additional fee.

Hosting Support
Productive Computing’s hosting staff works Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Pacific Time) and are available during these hours to address questions and issues. Occasionally, you may need to leave a message and we'll get the request done the same business day or by the next business day.
For hosting emergencies outside of normal business hours, please call 760-510-1200 and you will be forwarded to the hosting engineer on call. There may be a delayed response, but the hosting engineer will troubleshoot the system as soon as possible.
Our team handles all the necessary operating system patches and updates, FileMaker Server patches and upgrades, plug-in installations, SSL certificates, and backup schedules. Occasionally, Productive Computing does restart servers for necessary OS updates or FileMaker Server updates when applicable and appropriate. Typically, these updates are completed after-hours to minimize downtime. In the event that a server restart is necessary during business hours, we will send an announcement via email regarding the date, time and reason for any necessary downtime.
Backups
Our hosting plan provides for multiple backups to keep your data safe in case you accidentally remove crucial data, or in the unlikely event of a main hard drive catastrophe.
- Twice daily backups are completed at 1:00 AM and 12:30 PM and stored to a separate volume other than the main volume.
- We keep daily backups for one (1) week and weekly backups for six (6) months.
- A compressed copy of the backup file can be sent to you upon request.
Admin Console Access
FileMaker Server Admin Console access allows for extensive control over your FileMaker solutions. With a dedicated Admin Console account, you will have the ability to upload, download, and delete solutions, as well as control over server-side schedules and client connections.
