Integration with Apple Mail, iCal and Address Book
« on: September 24, 2009, 12:53:34 PM »
How tightly is Core2 bidirectionally integrated with mail, ical and address book?

Do I have to run a script or are changes in Core2 updated automatically into Apple and vice verse?

Currently the Core2 CRM has the following ability with Entourage and Apple Address Book:
-           Bi-directional data exchange between Core and Entourage for Mail Items
-           Uni-directional data exchange from Core to Entourage/Apple Address Book for Contact, Calendar and Task items

Regarding Mac Mail:
Although you can send email from the Core through Mac Mail, we have not yet added the ability to import emails from Mac Mail as that would require a a Mac Mail plug-in (which currently does not yet exist). Since we do have an Entourage Manipulator, we have integrated this functionality into the Core when you use Entourage as your mail client.

Regarding iCal:
Currently for calendar items we are talking to the Entourage Calendar. There is an iCal plug-in on the market, but since we are not the makers of the iCal plug-in we have not integrated this plug-in into our Core. We are familiar with this plug-in and can customize the Core to work with this plug-in.

Regarding AddressBook:
Using the Address Book Manipulator we have added the functionality of a uni-directional data exchange from Core to Apple Address Book. This can be customized for a bi-directional data exchange, but currently is not available “out of the box.”

I encourage you to check back with us at the beginning of the year 2010 as we have many new developments in progress with respects to Apple syncing. Unfortunately I am not at liberty to officially release any further details until all developments are finalized.
