Why only six stages?
« on: December 16, 2015, 06:05:57 PM »

In Preferences->General->Stages, the new stage script limits the system to no more than six stages per module. Why? Would there be any negative consequence to simply removing that limit from the script and making the portal show more records?

If you are using Core4 v 2.0.0.0 (or earlier), you can remove the stage limit and allow the portal to show more available records, since the Stages list obtains its values from the Stages table. Please note that you will also have to modify the "PREF__Stage_New" script to allow for more than 6 Stage values to be created.

Thanks, Paul. I had seen that limit in PREFF__Stage_New script. It seems somewhat arbitrary, just making the record count the same as the number of displayed portal rows. Seems like there are no consequences to having more than six related Stages, just the display issue. So I have gone ahead and removed the steps from the script and doubled the rows in the display of Stages in Global Prefs.
