Pulling Group items from QBPro
« on: October 22, 2015, 02:28:02 PM »
Greetings,
I have a client that uses group items in QBPro. (Several parts used to build a kit) Wants to be able to push an invoice from FMP to the plug in and have his Group item names/numbers populate in the pull down list. I don't think we need to push new group items to QB, just need to be able to get the plug in to recognize his existing group items when it connects to QBPro.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what "populate in the pull down list" means. It's been several years since I last worked with them, but it was my experience that--when an InvoiceLineGroupAdd node is part of an InvoiceAdd Request--QB adds the Group Item and all of its "component" Items to the Invoice. The Qty value of each component Items is set based on the Qty value of the Group Item.

HTH!

Sorry, should have been more specific.
We're using the FMBC demo file and adapting it for the clients needs.
After the connection is made to the company file, and the inital pull is made, his Group items are not showing in the InvoiceLineItemNo
pulldown menu, on the Push tab.
I can get the regular items to populate when they are send from my solution, but not Group items.
The demo file does not query group items when it runs the script "Get Items_ExistingSession"
I have edited that script by copying one of the existing sections that got a list of Service Items and edited the line to read ItemGroupQuery instead.
No errors but still no group items in the pull down menu.

Hard to guess where the issue arises.

Are there GroupItems in the targeted QB Company file?
When you edited the Query script, did you amend the parsing of the Response?
Can you post the edited script here?
