Quickbooks 2010 UK and VAT
« on: September 30, 2010, 09:35:48 AM »

I see it is possible to send sales invoices or bills to Quickbooks and there is an example showing this.

For the UK version of Quickbooks, it is necessary to be able to transfer a VAT breakdown/analysis for each invoice. For example:-

Total Invoice value before tax (Net) = 300.00
Total Tax (VAT) value = 35.00
Total invoice gross value = 335.00

Invoice lines:-
Product 1 - Net Value = 150.00, VAT Code = "S"
Product 2 - Net Value = 50.00, VAT Code = "S"
Product 3 - Net Value = 100.00, VAT Code = "Z"

So far, so good.  But the breakdown of the invoice also needs to carry to QB:-
Standard Sales (17.50%) Net Value = 200.00, Tax Value = 35.00
Zero-Rated Sales (0.00%) Net Value = 100.00, Tax Value = 0.00

Does your product allow integration with the UK 2010 version including the transfer VAT amount breakdown?

Many Thanks.

Best Regards

Yes, this can be accomplished by setting the proper tax value for each invoice or invoice line item. If an invoice or invoice line item is pushed and set as taxable, then the VAT will be calculated by QuickBooks accordingly. You may want to test and reference Intuit's OSR for a list invoice and invoice line item fields: and please use the Developer's Guide as a tool for navigating around the OSR found here:
