Item Query from FileMaker
« on: October 24, 2014, 12:11:31 PM »
I want a way to query items that have been added into QuickBooks and not in FileMaker, with the hopes of "syncing" all inventory items in QB with FM.

We will be adding all inventory items through QuickBooks first.

I then want to add a script in FileMaker that will query QuickBooks to retrieve all the items that have been added, so they can be added to FileMaker.

My first question is, is this even possible?

My second question is, if so, which request would I use for the connector?
- I see there is, "ItemInventoryQuery" and "ItemQuery" but I am not really sure as to which one to use. I would like to be able to retrieve the description of the item, but I don't see that in the OSR for these requests.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes this is possible. There are several posts on the forum regarding item queries so you can look at them for some of your questions. Our demo file also has a "Get Items" script that can help you get started.

Since you said you are doing inventory items, i would review the ItemInventory options in the OSR.

I completely forgot about the Demo Scripts, those have been helpful before.

I will take a look at those and figure out a solution hopefully.

Thank you so much!
