Extract data into fields with different names
« on: October 20, 2014, 06:54:11 PM »
I have hundreds of PDF forms with needed data on them.
I also have a Filemaker Pro Database with the same needed data, but not the same field names used between the two programs (and the two will probably not ever be the same - not allowed.
In the demo videos, I didn't actually see anything about extracting the data into filemaker, I could be a little dense though. Seemed to me mostly the other way around.

Is PDF Manipulator at all applicble for this purpose? Or am I stuck converting PDF to Excel, then importing and using Filemaker to juggle the import order?

Hello Mike,

The PDF Manipulator can go both ways. Names do not necessarily have to match so long as your scripting points to the right desired fields. I suggest taking a look at our demo file as that has basic functionality built into it. It is also open so you can review the scripting, etc. Note you do not have to build your solution/scripting the same way we do, it's just a starting point. If you have further questions or would like direct assistance with this, please feel free to contact our support team directly at (760)510-1200, we are available M-F from 8am-5pm PST or you can email support@productivecomputing.com with solution-specific questions.

Hope this helps!
