When making the PCQB_SGetXML request with the following XML request, the response XML file gives duplicate records for many of the customers although viewing All Customers in QuickBooks, there are no duplicate customers.

The resultant redacted xml file is attached to this message.

We have rebuilt the QuickBooks.QBW file to eliminate any potential quickbooks file corruption and file verifies successfully.

-------------------   XML REQUEST -----------------------

                        <ActiveStatus>All</ActiveStatus>
                </CustomerQueryRq>
        </QBXMLMsgsRq>
</QBXML>

Are you identifying "duplicate customers" by their ListID and FullName values? Bear in mind that you can have duplicate Name values for "Jobs" in QB, but the ListID and FullName values should always be unique.

HTH!

Geoffrey,

We have some information that is interesting to say the least and it even got a laugh from Productive Computing support and the plugin developer.

When we posted this issue on the forum we were also in contact with Intuit. Getting in contact with them was another one those typical support calls to a major software developer, getting to someone that can provide true assistance.

Below is the exchange between us and Intuit, enjoy and you might get a chuckle.
Start from the end and read up.

Yes, that is what is happening.

I tested it on my system as well and I see the same issue.  From what I can tell, everything else in the record is the same, except for the notes.

I am checking with development to see if that was the intention for this to happen with the query.

So if am I understanding you correctly....
           If a customer has multiple Notes lines....
                     when the XML request is made to return All customers....
                             QuickBooks will respond with duplicate Customer records....
                                       one for each of the Notes lines the customer in QuckBooks contains?

Is that correct?

Thanks for your help.

Never mind....

The issue is that each duplicate customer has different Notes lines.

<Notes>7/8/13: Letro cleaner pump</Notes>

<Notes>05/31/2012:  Angie's List client.

8/17/12: replaced 2 hp motor</Notes>

You might need to add specific columns instead of pulling the complete list.

What year, version and release of QB is this running against?

F2 will give you this information.

Interesting. IIRC, I tried to retrieve all of a Customer's Notes awhile back and couldn't get more than the first Note in the Response. You seem to have uncovered a work-around... :o

Which version of QB are you using?

They are currently using QuickBooks Enterprise 2013.
--------------------
Just running the Get All from PC registration and example file will expose the double entry if there are more than one note.
