Known Issues with FMBooks Connector and FMP 13
« on: January 20, 2014, 02:02:39 PM »
If the QB Company file is open and the Microsoft® .NET 4.5 Framework from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653 has been downloaded and installed, are there any issues calling the PCQB_BeginSession or PCQB_EndSession functions?

I want to be sure there's no need to insert pause steps in this scenario as long as the .NET framework is up to date.

Also: Is there any way to check (from within FMP) what version of the framework is installed?

TIA!

Hi Geoffrey,

As you know, we are still working on a compatible version of the plug-in with FileMaker 13. First, to address your "framework check" question, we do not have any way to check that. From what I've gathered, users will need to check this manually.

In regards to issues with the plug-in, we have encountered a few known issues with the plug-in. All of which are accounted for in section 11 of  the Developer's guide which was recently updated - including your question regarding begin and end sessions.

Hope this Helps!

The docs you point to appear to answer "Yes" to my first question, but I wanted to be sure that was the case and avoid the hassle of retrofitting scripts.

You've answered "No" to my second question, which is too bad but not too surprising.

You also said "a few known issues" but I saw only two in the docs. Are there others that aren't identified on page 31?

TIA!

My apologies for the verbiage,  :P those are the only two that we have come across during our testing with FileMaker 13.

The other issue, which you already know is that Intuit is deprecating support for QuickBooks online. This has caused a few issues with our customers in using the plug-in. We are currently working on a resolution for this.
