I have many pdf forms which I would like to combine into one and create filemaker records for each page. How can I walk through the fields on each page? and create FileMaker records for each

This may be possible if you work up a way to loop through a number of individual pdf page documents, you can try to modify the “Extract Fields” script in the demo file to get all fields from the given PDF file into a new record. The trick is the PDF page navigation, as there’s no “PCPF_OpenNextPage” function or anything just yet.

If you are trying to automate this process you may want to take a look at the FileManipulator plug-in to help you get a file list of the PDF documents you are trying to combine.

If you need assistance with this contact us so we can set you up with a developer to assist you with this scripting and also answer all your scripting and development questions.

I know this is an old thread but just in case anyone new is reading it, here is my answer.
Note that this shows how to create Filepath records for each of the pdfs you are importing.
You will need to create a looping script to import the final records created.
For simplicity's sake, the following shows the manual version.  It is relatively easy to do the loop scripting.

You do not need to make a single pdf. Use Filemaker's own 'Import From Folder'.

Create a new table in your database, call it 'PDF Store' or something.
Create a single text field called 'File Path'.
Select  Import Records/From Folder... from the Filemaker menu.
Select 'Pictures and Movies'
Select the Folder containing the pdfs you want to import.
Click 'continue'
Match 'File Path' on the left hand side (the source)  with the Filemaker field 'File Path' on the right hand side.
Import the records.

What you will get is new records, one for each pdf you are importing, which give the file path for that specific pdf.

After that, you can use your looping script to navigate back and forth between your pdf source file records and the table where you want to create the new records containing the pdf data.
