I have a client, a printer, that would like to tie FMP ver 11 and Quickbooks Mac 2012.
They are all Mac, is there a way with Virtual Box (or VMWare, etc) to achieve this?
FMP database would be hosted by a FMP user not server (only 3 or 4 users)
The Quickbooks is used by only one user. My last experience with Quickbooks was years ago.
The hosting of Quickbooks can be done with a regular user copy (if you have more than one seat) just like FMP?
So if the Quickbooks is hosted by the copy running in Windows in Virtual Box, the copy of Quickbooks Mac 2012 running on the same Mac can access the data for entry.
The copy of Quickbooks running in Windows on Virtual Box would be accessed by FMBooksConnector in the FMP Win version also running on the Virtual Box?

Any and all information would be very welcome.
I answer FMP networking questions on the FileMaker Forums, so I have some experience.
Thank you for your time.

Currently the FMBooks Connector will only work in a windows environment with both QuickBooks and FIleMaker Pro installed on the local machine. So if you were to install the Windows version of QuickBooks on the Virtual machine along side FileMaker Pro you should be able to push/pull data without having to purchase a Windows machine.

Another way of saying this is to use VMware Fusion (or some other Mac virtualization software) to create a virtual machine on your Mac.  Then install Windows, FileMaker, FMBooks Connector and QuickBooks on that Windows virtual machine.

I'm using this technique on many virtual machines.

I have set up my Mac using Parallels Desktop.  The issue I am trying to resolve is how to have another Windows computer in the office network connect to the open FM file REMOTELY.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.   The remote connection works fine when the FM file is on the Mac partition but I haven't been able to have a FM file show up when it is on Windows partition.

I believe the problem does not exist when the virtual machine has unique IP Address. If correct, the problem is in the way the you've set up networking on the Virtual Windows OS. I don't use Parallels, but VMWare allows a virtual machine to connect to the host machine's network with a unique IP Address, as if it was a separate machine, or using the host machine's IP Address, which may be the cause of your issue.

HTH!
