FM Books Connector V9 is now available. Our big news with this release, what we’re most excited about, is that this plug-in is now FileMaker 64-bit compatible!
Since its debut 10 years ago, the FM Books Connector has been a 32-bit plug-in working with the QuickBooks 32-bit application. When FileMaker introduced its 64-bit technology, we began investing a significant amount of our R&D resources into making our entire suite of plug-ins and solutions 64-bit compatible. It was important to us that our customers were able to take full advantage of the performance enhancements available with the FileMaker 64-bit architecture.
While QuickBooks is still a 32-bit application, we have redesigned the connection conduit in the FM Books Connector plug-in to allow for communication with FileMaker 64-bit.
Though process speeds depend upon the environment that you are running your FileMaker solution in, during internal testing we noticed a significant improvement in processing times. The 64-bit plug-in pushed customers up to 63% faster and pushed invoices 43% faster than the 32-bit plug-in.
